Before Charlie Sheen began his reign as Charlie Harper on CBS’ “Two and a Half Men,” the original Charley Harper appeared on NBC’s “NewsRadio,” albeit in a very minor role. I happened to spot two of Harper’s prints on a wall outside the elevator on the 14th floor—the floor above New York’s No. 2 Radio Station—where an environmental advocacy agency was too loud and disturbing the gang below. Obviously, the set-dressers found Harper’s posters—designed for U.S. Department of the Interior/National Parks—to be the perfect way to set the scene.

As you can (barely) see from the screengrabs, the scene features Harper’s “The Alpine Northwest” and “The Desert.”

The grabs were taken from Episode 19 of Season 3 entitled “The Feud.” To be sure, hijinks ensued.
